Typical Computer Virus Symptoms Include:
- Computer system takes a long time to boot at start-up.
- Computer system runs much slower than previously when preforming normal and routine operations.
- Computer is locking up or freezing. Viruses and Spyware infections can cause your system to become non- responsive and force program close downs.
- Pop-up Windows, tabs, and Advertisements are appearing in the Internet Browser at an excessive amount, sometimes causing system lockups. This annoying behavior is a sure symptom your computer has some sort of Malware or Adware infection.
- Internet Browser is redirecting webpages to a specific URL that end user didn’t type in or search for. URL Redirection is a strong sign you’re infected as this is an extremely common symptom of many Spyware and Malware infections.
- Fake Anti-Virus Programs and Fake Virus Alerts. This can be a little confusing. So, it is extremely important to know what kind of legitimate Anti-Virus Software programs your computer has, and familiarize yourself with the program(s) and the types of messages displayed when there are legitimate threats. If a program is popping up that isn’t your secure, legitimate program, this is another sure sign that a virus is trying to work itself into the computer system. This pop-up program IS THE VIRUS, and once clicked, the computer usually redirects to a website that demands payment. At this point, it’s best to “Ctrl-Alt-Delete” and “End Task” on the corresponding message and Internet Browser to avoid further infections.
